Anglican bishops and other Christians denominations declare that Jesus is NOT God

Mind Blowing Shock survey of Anglican Bishops – More than Half of England’s Anglican Bishops say Christians are not obliged to believe that Jesus Christ was God

“More than half of England’s Anglican Bishops say that Christians are not obliged to believe that Jesus Christ was God, according to a survey published today. The pole of 31 of England’s 39 bishops shows that many of them think that Christ’s miracles, the virgin birth and the resurrection might not have happened exactly as described in the Bible. Only 11 of the bishops insisted that Christians must regard Christ as both God and man, while 19 said it was sufficient to regard Jesus as ‘God’s supreme agent’” [British newspaper the “Daily News” 25/6/84under the heading “Shock survey of Anglican Bishops”]

But what is a messenger of God? Is he not “God’s supreme agent”?. This is indeed what God Himself has already told us in the noble Qur’an 1400 years ago, and exactly what Jesus (pbuh) himself testified to in the Bible:

“And this is life eternal, that they might know THEE {Father} the ONLY True God, andJesus Christ, whom thou hast SENT.” John 17:3

Astounding, isn’t it? With every passing day, the most learned among the Christian community are slowly recognizing the truth and drawing closer and closer to Islam. These are not Muslims who issued this statement. These are not “liberal” Christians. These are the most learned and most highly esteemed men of the Anglican Church. These men have dedicated their whole lives to the study of the religion of Jesus, and their study has driven them to the truth which God had already revealed to them in the Qur’an 1400 years ago: That Jesus was not God. That God is not a Trinity. And that the stories of the ministry of Jesus in the Bible have been extensively tampered with by the hands of mankind.

“And when Allah said: O Jesus, son of Mary! Did you say unto mankind: Take me and my mother for two gods beside Allah? he said: Be You glorified. It was not mine to utter that to which I had no right. If I used to say it, then You knew it. You know what is in my [innermost] self but I know not what is in Yours. Truly! You, only You are the Knower of things hidden. I spoke unto them only that which You commanded me, (saying): Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord, and I was a witness over them while I dwelt among them, and when You took me You were the Watcher over them, and You are Witness over all things.”  [ The noble Qur’an, Al-Maidah(5):116-118 ]

The Church, as Heinz Zahrnt put it “put words into the mouth of Jesus which he never spoke and attributed actions to him which he never performed.” One of those who has shown that most of what the church says about Jesus is baseless is Rudolph Augustein in his book “Jesus the Son of Man.” Another very comprehensive study of this matter can be found in the book “The Myth of God Incarnate” which was written by seven theologian scholars in England in 1977 and edited by John Hick. Their conclusion in this matter is that Jesus was “a man approved by God, for a special role within the divine purpose, and, the later conception of him as God incarnate , is a mythological or poetic way of expressing his significance for us.” See also John Mackinnon Robertson’s “Christianity and Mythology” T.W Doane’s “The Bible Myths and their Parallels in Other Religions” (A good summary of these studies is available in M.F. Ansarei, “Islam and Christianity in the Modern World”.

A University of Richmond professor, Dr. Robert Alley, after considerable research into newly found ancient documents concludes that

“, The (Biblical) passages where Jesus talks about the Son of God are later additions, what the church said about him. Such a claim of deity for himself would not have been consistent with his entire lifestyle as we can reconstruct. For the first three decades after Jesus’ death Christianity continued as a sect within Judaism. The first three decades of the existence of the church were within the synagogue. That would have been beyond belief if they (the followers) had boldly proclaimed the deity of Jesus.”

Is there any confirmation of this in the Bible, yes! If we were to read the Bible we would find that long after the departure of Jesus, his faithful followers continued to “keep up their daily attendance at the Temple” (Acts 2:46) It would be beyond belief to imagine that had Jesus indeed preached to his apostles that he was God, and if Jesus had indeed commanded them to forsake the commandments, that they would then disregard all of this and continue to worship in a Jewish synagogue on a daily basis, let alone the great Temple itself. It is further beyond belief that the Jews of the Temple would stand idly by and allow them to do this if they were preaching the total cancellation of the law of Moses and that Jesus was God.

Can any Trinitarian Christian, even in their wildest fantasies, imagine that the Jews in an orthodox Jewish synagogue would stand idly by while he took out his cross and prayed to Jesus in the midst of their synagogue and was publicly calling others to worship Jesus and forsake the commandments? How much more preposterous to imagine that they would have nothing to say to someone who did that in their most sacred of all synagogues, the Temple, on a daily basis yet. This is further evidence in support of the Qur’an, that Jesus only called his followers to a continuation of the religion of Moses and not by any means to the total cancellation and destruction of that law.

We also read the following verses of the Bible:

“Know therefore this day, and consider [it] in thine heart, that the LORD he [is] God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: [there is] none else.” Deuteronomy 4:39.

“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” Exodus 20:3

“For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name [is] Jealous, [is] a jealous God:” Exodus 34:14

“Ye [are] my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I [am] he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, [even] I, [am] the LORD; and beside me [there is] no savior.” Isaiah 43:10-11.

“Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I [am] the first, and I [am] the last; and beside me [there is] no God.” Isaiah 44:6

“That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that [there is] none beside me. I [am] the LORD, and [there is] none else.” Isaiah 45:6

“For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I [am] the LORD; and [there is] none else.” Isaiah 45:18.

“Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I [am] God, and [there is] none else.” Isaiah 45:22

Now we should begin to ask ourselves: If there was no god before or after God Almighty, then how was Jesus (pbuh) “begotten” as a god? The answer is: he was not. He was a mortal man, not a god. We even have the testimony of the majority of today’s Anglican Bishops in defense of this basic truth. If we want the testimony of a trustworthy witness then how much more trustworthy a witness shall we ever find than the majority of the most learned and respected conservative Christians of the Anglican Church?

Indeed  “God’s Supreme Agent” is exactly what a Messenger of God (Rasool ALLAH) like Jesus Christ, Muhammad, or even Gabriel (the Holy Spirit) should be appropriately described.

A mortal man is Messenger of God when he speaks the Words of God in first person, as if he is delivering a written text message from Almighty God, words to words, on God’s behalf, or better he is repeating after God words to words whilst God is speaking to him. But that does not make him God himself.

Very much like it does not make Hillary Clinton President of the United States, when she delivers Obama’s prepared speech on behalf of the President, in his absence.

Quran tells us, apart from Muhammad whom God delivered him the Book of Quran, Jesus Christ was another of God’s Messenger whom God sent down to him the Book of Gospel. Others who received God’s divine messages were Moses whom God delivered him the Book of Torah, and David who received the Book of Psalm from God.

Followers of Muhammad are expected not only to believe in the Book of Quran, but the Book of Torah, the Book of Psalm, and the Book of Gospel as well. However, we are yet to find one similar to the Book of Quran. Perhaps Bible has been talking about Torah, Psalm and Gospel but our expectation they come in the form like the Quran, wholly in God’s own words, words to words.

To appreciate the difference between Bible and Quran is to discern, for instance, the difference between books of various versions written about ‘Marx and Marxism’ by different authors, with one book entitled “Marx in his own words”.

If you take the Bible and read; you will effectively perceive it a sermon by a one mortal man about God, God’s Teachings  and God’s commands, besides this man’s narrations of Biblical stories.

You get a different effect when you read the Quran for you are essentially hearing God himself speaking to you to tell you about Himself, His teachings, His Commands, and amongst others His own stories about His prophets, their people, their nations, etc. There are also God’s special address to the Jews and the Christians, besides mentioning of His earlier revelations of the Torah, Psalm and Gospel revealed to Moses, David and Jesus Christ respectively.

For truly Quran are wholly “God in His own words”, words for words, as revealed to His Messenger Muhammad. That effectively makes God Himself the Author of the Quran, to make it absolutely God’s own Book from God’s own works. It stays authentic, well preserved and only in one version worldwide. No edition and no updates, for who are mortals like us to edit or updates God’s works?

Muhammad had always been very careful to ensure his mortal words do not get mixed up with God’s divine words, for both will be coming from his tongue and mouth. His companions will have to discern the difference and Muhammad will always have to check to ensure fidelity of the Quran is maintained.

Muhammad during his lifetime strictly disallowed writing and recording of his own words and his actions. He commanded that they be burnt and destroyed to ensure they will not find their way into the Quran.

God mentions in the Quran that the faith of Abraham, the Patriarch of the Hebrews (Children of Abraham), is ISLAM and God of Abraham is ALLAH. That Abraham had made ALLAH the one absolute God and Lord for the Hebrews, and ISLAM their one Religion.

The last Prophet and Messenger of ALLAH, Muhammad, had in fact  merely retained the name ALLAH (as the name of our God and Lord) and ISLAM (as the name our Religion), for ISLAM is indeed not a new Religion and ALLAH is not a different God and Lord of that of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob (Israel), David, Solomon, Moses, or Jesus Christ.

ALLAH had made it clear too in the Quran that Mohamed is only one of the Prophets and Messengers of God in the lineage of Prophets and Messengers of ALLAH. That all Muslims are to indiscriminately believe in all the Semitic prophets and messengers of ALLAH and to believe in Torah, Psalm and Gospel, besides Quran.

Perhaps, it is not the question of converting individual Jews to become individual Christians, or converting individual Christians to become individual Muslims. But rather the question of reverting Judaism and Christianity back to Islam free from adulteration and blasphemy. I guess that was what the main mission and approach of Jesus and Muhammad when they dealt with ‘People of the Book’.

For the original Religion of the Jews or the Christians is not Judaism or Christianity, but indeed ISLAM.

Perhaps we have learned well from the grave mistakes of our predecessors. Unlike the Jews and the Christians, we Muslims have always avoided or never agreed to calling ourselves Mohammedan, and our religion Mohammedanism right from the start.

Al-Maidah (5): 48

And We have revealed to you the Book with the truth, verifying what is before it of the Book and a guardian over it, therefore judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and do not follow their low desires (to turn away) from the truth that has come to you; for every one of you did We appoint a law and a way, and if Allah had pleased He would have made you (all) a single people, but that He might try you in what He gave you, therefore strive with one another to hasten to virtuous deeds; to Allah is your return, of all (of you), so He will let you know that in which you differed;

Al-Maidah (5): 49

And that you should judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and do not follow their low desires, and be cautious of them, lest they seduce you from part of what Allah has revealed to you; but if they turn back, then know that Allah desires to afflict them on account of some of their faults; and most surely many of the people are transgressors.

Al-Baqarah (2): 62

Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans – those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness – will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.

Ebionites Theology and Early Christians’ Beliefs

Eboinites are the early follower of Jesus led by Jesus’ brother James. According to a very ancient Christian text called “The Teachings”, those early follower of Jesus, knew nothing of a divine Jesus, they knew nothing of an atoning sacrificial death on the cross, nor did they recognize Jesus as the literal Son of God.

In fact, almost all of the major teachings of Islam about Jesus and his message are echoed faithfully including the definition of Jesus as a servant of God and teacher/ prophet.

It was said that Waraka ibn Nawfal (a paternal cousin of Khadija), whom Kadija first referred to after Prophet Muhammad received his first revelation of the Quran, was this Oboinite Christian Priest of Mecca.
